Day 13
I'm taking a moment to apologize for my absence from S.O.T.D. I recently took some time to make the most of very promising business opportunites, which have helped strengthen my future steps into the 'real world'. Needless to say, I'm back and here to make you smile.

Brett Dennen-Make You Crazy
He looks 12, but he's actually 29. He caught the ear of John Mayer and now he's making his way to famous blog sites such as this one...!
Macy Gray-I Try
The Etta James intro leads into the lyrical crack fiend.
Colin Munroe ft. Joell Ortiz-Piano Lessons
I've posted his tracks up before. I like his creativity and his instrumental background. Joell Ortiz is a great lyricisit and this is featured on Colin Munroe's mixtape The Unsung Hero.
Blink 182-First Date
I had to put some 'Blink' up since I've been playing them for a while now, and moreso because they are dropping a new album soon!
Drake ft. Trey Songz-Pop Rose
A remix to Pop Champagne, but not really. I heard this a while back before the Jim Jones track and I like it a lot better. Drake is one to watch out for!
Adele-Chasing Pavements
An artist from across the pond. She's 20 and also just won a grammy. Not too shabby.
Wale-Nike Boots
An artist of the Hip-Hop class of 2009. He was on The Roots latest album and is signed to Interscope records. He works with one of my favorite producers, Mark Ronson.
A.C. Newman-Like a Hitman, Like a Dancer
He has been in bands for a while, but just recently went solo. He's got an interesting sound reminiscent of the Cold War Kids.
Kings Of Leon-Use Somebody
Rock straight from the garage if you will. They've been around for a while, but haven't been too big in the United States until recently. Check out Manhattan, and Cold Desert.

Day 11
(Right click link and select 'open link in new tab')
James Morrison-Wonderful World
He's got a Ray Lamontagne feel to his music, but I think I like his stuff even better. I could reccomend a lot of other songs for you, but start here.
Unkle-Lonely Soul
Mellow as it gets. This is for you people trying to find yourself.
Baz Luhrmann-Everybody's Free
I started my last semester of undergraduate studies yesterday, but 10 years later, this still has some good advice.
John Legend-Ordinary People
It's John Legend. We're all just ordinary people, stop judging.
50 Cent ft. Beyonce-Thug Love
Classic 50. This is before either of them were dumb rich.
Lykke Li-Little Bit
A singer from Sweden with a very unqie sound. I like a lot of her stuff. Also check out Until We Bleed featuring Kleerup.

Jamiroquai-Virtual Insanity
I also have a moving floor in my apartment, but it usually occurs at 4 a.m on a Friday night.
Charles Hamilton, Asher Roth, B.O.B-Change Gonna Come
The hip-hop class of 2009. They each have their own unique style and catchy word play. Charles Hamilton has a lot of mixtapes out, so check those out. Asher Roth put out The Greenhouse Effect mixtape which is really great. Check out I Love College.
Franz Ferdinand-Ulysses
This is from their upcoming third studio album. I've always enjoyed their sound and this song has a 'Doors' feel to it.
Flight Of The Conchords-Most Beautiful Girl
Flight Of The Conchords. Before their hit HBO show they were doing comedy through songs like this. Your so beautiful you could be a air hostess in the sixties.
Distant Light-Unity
A chill mellow band out of Austin, Texas.
Jordan Knight-Give It To You
My friends and I always break into song and choreographed dance moves in the middle of Lake Compounce...wearing cargo khakis and sweater turtlenecks. I mean, doesn't everyone?! Just a fun throwback haha.

Day 9
From here on out I've decided to highlight my personal favorite S.O.T.D pick in red.
(Right click link and select 'open link in new tab')
Black Eyed Peas-Sexy
A sexy track off their Elephunk album. Will.i.Am is really underrated.
Chris Rock-No Sex
This song is dedicated to DJ Grinch aka Tom Brindisi.
K'Naan-If Rap Gets Jealous
K'Naan was born in Somalia and was introduced to hip-hop when his father sent him albums from America. He made his way to the states with his mother and started rapping when his english got better. K'Naan was able to perform at the United Nations' 50th anniversary concert in 1999, held in Geneva, where he used his platform to publicly criticize the United Nations' handling of the Somali crisis in the 1990s. One of the audience members, Senegalese singer Youssou N'Dour, was so impressed by his performance and courage that he invited him to contribute to his 2001 album Building Bridges. Now he is featured on the famous web site Song Of The Day! K'Naan drops his album Troubadour on February 24th. All his songs tell a story you've never imagined. Check him out!
Boyce Avenue-Change Your Mind
A band of brothers, literally. Three brothers from Florida with a strong melody and harmony driven rock vide. They've got some great acoustic covers too.
Enur-Calabria 2008
Dance bitch, dance!
Say Anything-Wow I Can Get Sexual Too!
A little bit of phone loving. Got the fever for the flavor in this video.
Slick Rick ft. Outkast-Street Talkin
Used to ride out to this with the orignal crew. G-Dep and Big B. One.
Obie Trice-You Burn
I don't know why Obie got dropped from Shady/Aftermath records. I guess Em and Dre got no time to take away from their albums. Hook is meant for 50, I was waiting for the main beat to drop the whole time, but nonetheless it's a sick song with Led Zeppelin in the background.
Jay-Z-Pass The Roc
An old school freestyle from Jay-Z. A very simple beat that Jay just rips apart.
I clearly went hip-hop crazy today, but that's just my vibe right now. Happy Friday!

Throwback Thursday: 80's
Day 8
(Right click link and select 'open link in new tab')
Billy Joel-Uptown Girl
The original piano man.
Sugar Hill Gang-Rapper's Delight
I love old school hip-hop. So much to choose from, but you must know rappers delight, if not, get to know it.
Michael Jackson-Man In The Mirror
This is Michael Jackson right before he went 100% white. Song's got a great message.
U2-I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
They've been around forever. And so have Bono's glasses.
Bruce Springsteen-Dancing In The Dark
The original Boss. Performing at the Super Bowl halftime show this year, which means there will be no titties popping out. Welp, more nachos please!
Biz Markie-Just A Friend
Yo Mama so old she knew central park when it was just a plant! Bahhhahaha! Youuuuuuuuu, you got what I neeeeeeeedddd!

Day 7
(Right click link and select 'open link in new tab')
**New Features Coming To S.O.T.D Later This Week!**
RJD2-Cut Out To FL
This is from Dead Ringer, RJD2's second studio album. Ghostwriter is one of his most popular song, but don't stop yourself there. Browse his music thoroughly. I also have a freestyle written for this, get at me!
Savage Garden-Cherry Cola
A lesser known song from Savage Garden, but this would have been a single had I had it my way. "How could you have grown up in the 90's and not like this band?!" (JC)
Handsome Boy Modeling School-Breakdown
A great Jack Johnson remixed by HBMS. They have a lot of creativity in their line up. Also check out The Truth, and Rock and Roll Could Never Hip Hop Like This.
Jonas Brothers-Lovebug
Yes, the Jonas Brothers. It's about crossing genres people!
Across The Universe Soundtrack-I Want To Hold You Hand
Great movie, great soundtrack.
Saigon-C'Mon Baby
If you know Entourage then you should know Saigon. He was Turtle's first and only client. Album is The Greatest Story Never Told, which has been delayed for about a year now.

Day 6
(Right click link and select 'open link in new tab')
Goo Goo Dolls-Iris
Less thinking, more feeling.
Fly Leaf-Sorrow
I was put on to this band by a truly crazy girl, but most are. I dig it, and the video is pretty cool too.
David Sides-The Scientist
This is one of my favorite Coldplay songs covered by David Sides on the piano. He has cover's to a lot of good songs and does them all justice.
Lloyd Banks-Help
God blessed you when he made me, I mean he blessed me when he made you, see I got a little game too.
Musiq-Halfcrazy
Don't sleep on Musiq Soulchild.
Kidz In The Hall-Mr. Alladatshit
Two great mc's out of the windy city (Chicago). This is one of my favorite song's off their album. Also check out, The Pledge, Mr. Alladatshit, and Love Hangover. Just get their album The In Crowd, it's one of the better albums to come out of hip-hip this year.
